Bruce and I started the day by walking Anna to work. She's got a part time job shelving books at the public library, and had the morning shift. It was already hot and muggy at 9 am. Mid-morning I escorted the Nesmiths to Middleburg Heights to visit the cemetery and give the geraniums a drink of water at our parents plot. In the afternoon we went to the Great Lakes Science Center downtown, where we enjoyed the hands on displays and the views of the lake.
When we ran out of steam, I suggested a Malley's run. I wasn't sure how or when we'd fit it in, but late afternoon was a great time. We went to the location on Madison in Lakewood, and bellied up on ice cream. This was Sam's first visit to a restaurant, quite appropriate that it was Malley's with cousins. He'll have many more of these trips in his future!
In the evening we had a classic summer picnic- grilled hamburgers, potato salad, corn on the cob and watermelon.
The Iowans have pointed their vehicle east this morning, but it was fun to see them! Here are some pictures.
